Business Women Australia, Swag Bags, Door Prizes… a look into our first event!

Megan and I have such passion for what we do that it comes as no surprise that we jump at any exciting opportunity put in front of us – regardless of what work we currently have on!

When Jennifer Bryant and Lyn Hawkins from Business Women Australia called us one afternoon to catch up, Megan and I were intrigued. The minute we all sat down to meet we instantly clicked and knew that we had to be on board this exciting journey with Business Women Australia.

Before we knew it we had signed up as members of this great community of women and decided at that moment that we wanted to be more involved and Gloss became an Event sponsor for 2016.

Events are something Megan and I have always enjoyed and we were so excited to work with BWA to organise the Women on the Rise sundowner at the end of November this year. Gloss worked to gather new sponsors for the event including contemporary event furniture hire company Event Artillery, Kaleidoscope Flowers for all floral arrangements, door prizes from Barista School Perth, Atlas Pearls, Jeunesse Skin Care to name a few.

This event also opened up a new door for us with the realisation that we loved organising the “swag bags” for each guest. Not only did we put them together but we ensured that each bag was filled with products and offerings that would be beneficial to each guest – not to mention edible! If you’re wondering how we found the time to fill 100 swag bags then we must make a special shout out to Ryan (Megans Husband) who took charge and created a production line to get things done efficiently!

Not only did we help with the planning of the event but we did the marketing. Business Women Australia has a great following on social media and email so we were able to develop a clear strategy to invite guests along and to keep them informed of who was involved and what they could expect on the night.

We are now in the process of working with BWA for the next event which will be on International Women’s Day 2016!

Business Women Australia is a supportive community of business women focused on personal and professional growth. Their focus is on celebrating the achievements of all women in business. During 2016, Gloss will be holding several marketing workshops for members at boardroom level. If you’re interested in becoming a member visit their website here.
