Napoli Mercato – an Italian gourmet food delicatessen in Harrisdale, approached Gloss Marketing Communications to help build brand awareness and get their name out there! We developed a marketing strategy, which included a big focus on social media. The strategy commenced prior to the store opening to build hype and excitement and then was launched into full swing when they opened in 2015.
We setup Napoli Mercato up on Facebook & Instagram as these were the two platforms that their target audience engaged with most and prepared a social media content strategy to promote the store, products and share the families love for good food.
We planned to launch a Like campaign on facebook after their first month to reach a wider audience to build their following however this was not needed. The hype and buzz created before their opening started a frenzy of excitement, which in turn grew their followers organically and quickly.
We created the hashtag #mynapolimercato so Instagram followers could share their food creations with us using the produce purchased at the store. This gained so much interest that it quickly turned into a monthly competition where we now give vouchers away to the best picture posted each month.
In just over 12 months Napoli Mercato have over 5,600 fans on Facebook and over 1600 followers on Instagram.
Their recipes, promotions, family videos and fresh produce get shared multiple times a day from their increasing loyal followers.
